just wanted to throw another picture of the li'lest despot up here. look at those whiskers, positively freakish. by the way, i'm well aware of just how obsessed with papi i am. he's just so cute and scary.
i just finished this painting of the two-headed monster "shauna papi". make sure to notice the adderall paws. it was a project for my school arts class, the theme was prosthesis. truth be told i wouldn't be able to get through school without the three of them. ok, i'm not sure how much help papi is.
i just wanted to show off the sweetest valentines day present ever. shauna came with the cutest portrait that her friend brooks painted of her several years ago while they were both studying at the academy (not when she was seven, as this painting might lead you to think). i have always loved this painting and am so happy to now own it.
i promised more blogjammin' and i'm glad to be able to deliver. this is my first attempt at printmaking. the prints were made by etching a clear sheet of plexiglass with a sharp metal etching tool. the sound was unbearable but i'm pretty pleased with the results. the first picture was the initial print, the second print was after i went back in and did a little more work, adding the background and subtly refining the skull.
this is a black construction paper cut-out (18"x24"), part of a collaborative project for my school arts class. the project deals with untold stories from american history. i am addressing the colonists' use of terrorism as a tactic by which they systematically focused attacks on unarmed innocents to forward their expansion of territory. this terror activity is very similar to the actions that our current administration is combating in our global war on terror.
